About
A garden can hold a lifetime of memories. It can bring comfort, purpose and moments of joy. But as we grow older, or when living with a long-term health condition, maintaining a garden can become overwhelming. For partners, family members and carers, the responsibility of looking after both a loved one and the garden can quickly become a challenge.

I am an RHS-trained gardener with Alzheimer's Society training, offering a patient, compassionate and understanding gardening service. My aim is not simply to maintain a garden, but to help people continue enjoying it in a way that supports their wellbeing, encourages independence and provides reassurance to those who care for them.
Whether it's regular garden maintenance, seasonal tidying or simply spending time helping someone reconnect with their outdoor space, every visit is centred around dignity, respect and the belief that a garden should remain a place of comfort and enjoyment throughout life's changes.

Friendly Presence
Partners and carers of people living with long term health conditions can become isolated and exhausted while managing the demands of full-time caring.

Alongside gardening care, I offer something equally important: a friendly, reliable presence.

Sometimes, knowing that someone is there to help and understand the challenges can make a real difference.

More than Gardening
By taking the time to get to know each client, I can provide a truly person-centred service. Every individual has their own interests, abilities and routines, so I tailor my approach to suit their needs, preferences and pace.

Whenever possible, I encourage clients to take part in simple gardening activities, such as:
-
Watering plants
-
Planting flowers
-
Light pruning
-
Deadheading flowers
-
Simply spending time outdoors, enjoying the garden and sharing memories
My Approach
I believe that a garden should remain a place of comfort, familiarity and enjoyment throughout life's changes.

I provide a patient, person-centred service that respects the dignity, independence and individual needs of every client, while recognising the important role of partners, family members and carers.

My goal is simple:
To help people stay connected to their gardens while providing companionship, reassurance and practical support that enhances wellbeing and quality of life.

Whether you're finding it more difficult to keep on top of your garden, or you're supporting a loved one with a long-term health condition, let's discuss how I can help.

My Story
My name is Neil Bottrill
For over 30 years, I worked behind the scenes in the film industry, helping bring stories to life on both big and small screens. It was a creative and fast-paced world, but over time I felt the need to step away and focus on something more grounded and personally meaningful.

I returned to a long-standing passion of gardening and began studying horticulture at Capel Manor College. What started as a personal interest gradually became a new direction in life.

Like many families, mine has been touched by dementia. I’ve seen how it can change everyday routines and how something as familiar as a garden can become difficult to manage. When that happens, people can lose not only a space they love, but also a sense of structure, connection, and identity.

That experience shaped the work I do today.

I now provide a patient, compassionate gardening service, combining my RHS horticultural training with Alzheimer's Society training to support older people and those living with long-term health conditions. My aim is to help people stay connected to their gardens for as long as possible.
